In Anticipation of Flood

What if your house were inundated by water coming out of the blue
of the heavy rain? You couldnt imagine the impact to our house and
its contents. Is the water damage included in your insurance clauses?
Again, you couldnt imagine the cost to clean, repair, and not to mention
the debris. Supposed you are not insured, and no other insurance is willing to protect you against the water damage. So, what do you think you
should do in anticipation of flood?

To start with,  you can reorganize ditches or sewers surrounding you by
conducting periodical clearing-up hand-in-hand wth the neighbors.
This is to protect your house foundation and supports. Next, You modify
your doors and windows  with waterproof material while checking
the heating system as well as air conditioners which are vulnerable
to water. And as for the basement, dont forget to test the function of
water pump on it. It is important to know that all electrical and electronic
devices maintain good service either by the handy man or yourself. Once in
a while, you may as well check the reachable pipe joints to prevent leak. Make sure carpets are always in good condition, as those can cause smelly carpet when exposed to water. Installing newly good quality taps and plugs is advisable as to anticipate rusty water and mold from the wall.

Should your house be located near river, make sure that you and neighbors set up an emergency alarm when flood is coming your way. To check your belongings to be evacuated immediately upon it. Knowing that you are well prepared to anticipate flood, and count on the above preventive measurement, the cost of repair would be reduced afterward even if you are not insured against water damage.
